Well, it's official, Zone 5 has ceased production on the Hyundai line of the MAFterburner. The best AFR piggyback available for our cars will no longer be available. Sad news for Hyundai tuners. For now that leaves the Neo as the only piggyback option (sure there are other tuners... they're just not as well supported/do***ented). How long will this be the case? Well, that's where the good news comes in. T.C. @ NGM has finally made an announcement on the super-duper-ultra-secret tuners he's been working on. That's right... I said tunerS. Here is the official announcement:
Hello,
Well after a long run with the Mafterburner as our main tuning device for all of our performance applications, I received word from my builder that he is no longer going to build them anymore. So, in the mean time, we will be using the SAFC Neo for our tuning needs as a fill in until I finalize two key tuning tools that I am working on. The first one that I am working on is the new AEM FMIC. It is a fuel and timing piggyback management system that AEM sent for me to test on the Tiburon platform. We have the box on Tibby03's car right now and we are going to get the box up and working the beggining of the week.
The ultimate tuning tool that I am working on right now is a complete ECU reflash package that is completely user friendly. It plugs into the OBDII port and has Windows based software. The program utilizes drop down windows that allow the user to pick his/her combination. For example, it will ask you what octane you are using, what injectors you are installing, what type of F/I you are using like turbo, roots, Vortec, ect. It will ask you how much boost you are running, what type of Maf ect. Then it will compile the new information and make changes to the factory programming and reflash the computer. Next, you make a dyno pull and look at your tune up. You can go back in and click on another dop down window that will allow you to change up to 1 pt in A/F and 5 degrees of timing one way or the other per reflash. The software will also allow you to raise the rev limiter, disable the rear O2's and a lot more. The company is working on it as we speak so I will keep you informed as we have progress.
Thanks T.C.
